MyPass IVM and ServiceNow Integration

The purpose of this document is to show the steps to integrate Service-Now with MyPass IVM/FastPass IVC. The intended audience of this document is personnel either responsible for, preparing or performing the integration.

Background

MyPass Identity Verification Manager is an application that provides you with the ability to offset risk and increase efficiency at the corporate service desk. Unlike other solutions, it uses various static (names, departments, etc) and dynamic (location, login behaviour, device usage) authenttication methodes to determine if a helpdesk agent is in contact with an actual company employee or contractor. This process allows companies with large and/or remote workforces to reduce the risk of phishing and social engineering at the company service desk or at a managed service provider. Individual companies as well as managed service providers can both benefit from MyPass IVM since the use case is very similar. Ultimately our goal is to reduce security risks while enabling users to be productive in the meantime.

The integration of MyPass Cloud Platform’s Identity Verification Manager module with ServiceNow allows support agents to:

• Quickly transition between support tickets data and the MyPass IVM process.
• Automatically update call details once an assisted password reset has been completed.
• Increase the security governance at the helpdesk to allow much more accurate identity verification (either via standard or advanced verification).

This integration is achieved by ServiceNow calling MyPass IVM with details on the target user and the specific ticket, whenever a password reset category is selected as the ticket type. From here, verification is completed and details about actions are passed back and updated in ServiceNow.
